For my thesis, I have designed and developed a board game called “INATTENTION”. This game is named after one of the key symptoms of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD or ADD), and through its gameplay, players begin to experience some of the many tics associated with the disorder. Through the use of multicolored playing cards with visual and auditory elements, it can be difficult for players to remember every detail and get the full picture (i.e. the main struggle of experiencing inattention). My intention in this game is to create a uniquely effective way of spreading education and empathy surrounding ADHD. Moreover, this game is accessible for all ages, which makes it a great option for families with small children. This will help people who suffer from the disorder to seek diagnoses and subsequent help earlier.
