The ABC’s was created to focus on color and typography. As I started planning my work, I knew I wanted to make physical items. There is a straight beginning to end process, which I find most rewarding. So I figured why not combine these two passions of mine, ceramics, and design while doing my thesis. So I did!

 I am an avid children’s book shopper. The colors, patterns, and illustrations behind these books have always drawn me in. After exploring a failed alphabet print, I had a realization that a beautifully designed ABC book would be fantastic. I nanny, so this just fits perfectly. That is exactly what I would make! I created a beautiful ABC book, prints, and a small line of items based on a book’s print. As a kid, I remember the books I used to learn the ABC’s and I wanted to make a series of prints and books to give that same experience.
